The CD 4046 Digital Document Recorder is a compact, desktop model that has a 6" color touch panel display that controls all functions to make scanning and recording simple. There are multiple scanning modes – Simplex for single-side and Duplex for two-sides. And two contact image sensors read the front and back of a document in a single pass for fast throughput. A built-in Central Processing Unit (CPU) and hard drive facilitate the scan-to-record-to-store function.

The unit scans at resolutions of 300 x 300, 300 x 150 or 200 x 200 dots per inch, depending on the application’s requirement. Text-mode and Photo-mode provide added image fidelity. Each CD can hold up to 650MB (20,0000 pages) of information.

Operation is simple: the device automatically determines and adjusts to the thickness of the document and its size, ranging from business card to legal. It then captures only the image area to minimize the disk storage space required.

The feed tray can hold 100 pages for high volume processing, while the unit's convenient stacking feature maintains the original feeding order with face-down output.
